He had made an attempt in what he thought was a way for him to find/feel God --even if temporarily. But ofcourse that was too simplistic an approach to get rid of his detachment state. A detachment not from worldly matters, but rather from divine beings. A state that made him realize that he needed to re-establish a connection. So he realized that rather than finding God, he should work on trying to become aware of his spiritual side first. But he's realizing how difficult it is to realize his spirituality, and is thus becoming more tolerant of the idea of spiritual guidance.
Curious to discover more about the Path. Can't claim he's upto setting himself on one, yet would very much like to realize such a Path and explore such a connection.
We created man and We know what his self whispers to him, and We are nearer to him than his jugular vein. [Qaf:16]

Wouldn't we all, at some point?
Apparently yes.
I wonder why I can very much relate to that post! May be wishing to get rid of the detachment state.
Mo, a reply! I have been waiting for this for months!
Kayla, you know what's between us is stronger than simple replies :)
I suppose one has to know she has a soul to begin with. Do materialists really know that? If one is comfortable with her soul, I would guess they've gone along way already.
I'm afraid if you've been away for such a long while then it'll be quite hard to come back and post like you used to.
I hope you find your spiritual side... and realize your path. and I hope you'd share whatever experience you're going through with us.
Wishing you all the best, Mohamed.

excuse me!
what does that actualy mean!
This fellow mohamed is away for years now...but the statement he has made about frager's article, can he reapply to the prophet. the christian and jewish God was there. What the prophet was doing in cave hira? detachment or attachment?
I would also like to add " wa man arafa nafsahu, faqad arafa rabbahu". translation "The one who recognized his soul indeed witout any doubt recognized his God."
